The niqab experiment follow-up

Hi Everyone!
For everyone who read my blog about my niqab experiment, many of You were curious of certain aspects. I will update You now about the reactions of my boyfriend and also what happened when I returned back to my corner shop.

Before I dressed into black I asked my boyfriend if it's a good idea. He told me, sure, good idea and I should try it if I want. Actually he was pleasantly surprised that I volunteerly offered to dress myself into the Islamic face-covering dress in hot weather and walk the streets. He understood it was only an experiment, not my new interest towards Islam as religion or anything like that. He supported me and advised how to behave on streets, not to look into the eyes of stranger men or to speak with loud voice etc.
In the end, after walking next to me in different areas, I think he was kind of relieved. He didn't have to be on his guards all the time, having to worry if anyone makes comments to me or any this kind of trouble. He had a holiday:)

Now for the most interesting part, the reaction of the shopkeepers, who knew me and thought I had converted to Islam. We passed their shop, I was with my Estonian friend and Salah went to buy some drinks, we chatted with her next to the shop. As the first minute passed being seen by them as my normal self, I understood, its gonna be fine. From now on, they will think of me as the crazy weird foreigner. And that's ok with me. Its the best possible effect from my risky experiment. They obviously saw me and were confused for a second but didn't take big offense to raise their voice or speak with me about what had happened. The next and the last effect of my experiment will be if I return to this shop alone become face-to-face with them and speak with them. We will see...and I'll keep You updated.
