I found a small KFC chain restaurant, the kind I have never seen before - run by the
speech and hearing impaired Egyptians. This means You will be served by death people or people with speech disorder and its called a community care restaurant.
It’s relative quiet, nobody is screaming in the kitchen
and instead of being greeted with a simple "hello", you are welcomed with a big
smile by the staff. The service works through a menu on the ordering counter, its a special large size illustrated menu through witch You can communicate with the workers. We went there without reading a sign at entrance and when it was our time to make an order we realized this place was run differently. But in the end it worked smoothly and we made our order easily and got the right food and even made a joke or two with the death guy serving us at the table.
I think its a beautiful idea and needs to be supported and by the looks of other customers, they were impressed too! If You are in Cairo and want normal fast food with very polite service and quiet atmosphere, try it out!
