The story was the following: a group of young people and the singer breaks into an empty circus, has fun in the dressing room checking out the glittery stage accessories (including a real monkey) and finally decided to dress up and get the dance going on the stage ... until the circus security guard breaks up the party.
The best lesson I got throughout the shooting was about style and fashion! Im not joking when I say we spent more than 50% of the shooting time on getting everyone dresses, mixing and matching, trying and changing. Everyone had two costumes, one trendy street outfit for the break-in and another theatrical one for the final dancing shot. I basically went through a complete make-over. Take a look at the photo and see how far I am from my normal comfortable every-day style! Ive always loved to see the complete make-over show's, where people are changed 180! I went through the same thing and it really opened something in me...only time will tell :)
For the dance part, each of us had a character. The make-up artist took one look at me and decided I will be a circus Barbie! It kind of scared me, but in the end I looked more like a classic Charlie Chaplin style mime, totally my thing:)
The acting and joking for the video was the easy thing! Dancing even more easy! But what was really difficult was to stay up and keep looking fresh! We arrived in the shooting location at 1 AM and left the location at 8.30 PM the next day! That's 20,5h of shooting with one sleepless night...with professional make-up and good lights they hid all the signs of exhaustion :)
